"Below the Above" draws inspiration from the work of Leandro Erlich's Swimming Pool, exploring the concepts of time and space within the piece. Through a depiction of my daughter beneath the pool's surface, I aimed to convey the duality of our perception of self and the world around us.
Is she sinking because of the weight of the world or standing despite it? The textured layering resulting from painting over an older piece creates an ethereal place of dreams and forgotten memories.
